EOS Riders Dominate Yokohama Skim-O-Rama

Erik Covarrubias reporting:
What an exciting contest it was this past Saturday. The waves were large and in charge, sun was out, and everybody was killing it. Thanks again to Keone Downing & Downing Hawaii surf shop for coming through with some cool stuff donated by Volcom. We also had burgers and plenty drinks & snacks by our man Mike Maclean one of the managers from Lulu’s Waikiki bar & restaurant right across the street from the zoo in Waikiki. Freak traction pads also offers large support, and thanks as always to Vic, Exile, & Maui Skimmers.

Congratulations to everyone who competed. We had a large showing from Maui, I guess those guys really like Yokes, and why wouldn’t anybody love it out there. The Men’s Advanced division put on a really good show. The scores were really close in the finals and it was hard to tell who won just by watching.

The winner of this year’s Men’s Advanced was EOS Rider Kyle ‘Little Man” Olson. Little Man also won the recent Dangerous Shorebreak contest shooting to him to the lead in league points. In 2nd was Dave “Stermanburgstein” Sterman, 3rd Ace Conlon from Kauai, & 4th by just 1.5 points was Clark “Sharkboy” Camp.

Womens Division was Natalie Nakasone 1st from Oahu, Nikki Lee in 2nd from Maui, & EOS Rider Jasmine Joy 3rd from Oahu.

21 & under winner is EOS Rider Forrest Dein from Maui (He needs a nickname), 2nd was Micah Bush from Oahu, & 3rd was Eric Sterman also Oahu.

22& up winner is Kai Bednorz-Pierpoint from Maui, 2nd was Kaeo Miles from da westside, and 3rd Marc Weber from Maui.

It was a long but great day and everybody had a good time. Next contest is the Maui Skim-wowie planned for Saturday June 6th at Big Beach. Mahalo again and we’ll see you next time.
