Oh so you want to see more of Team Rider Blair Conklin eh?

DB keeps bringing the noise … the last section of this video at Chambers Creek with EOS team riders Isaac and Logan is pretty sick, just the pop in Logan’s board is worth it to watch
Faster Legs = Faster Skimboard
Chances are you got into extreme water sports to avoid the cliché old coach in thigh high bike shorts yelling, “GET YOUR KNEES UP! PUMP YOUR ARMS! LENGTHEN YOUR STRIDE!” But the truth is that chubby old has-been spitting chewing tobacco in your face had a few great tips for running faster. The pre sprint stretch is paramount to getting the knees up, pumping the arms, and lengthening the stride.
Why does this matter to skimboarders?
Getting the knees up and lengthening the stride go hand in hand. If your stride is longer, you cover more ground faster. Pumping the arms does increase leg turnover (speed) and length which also allows you to cover more ground faster, but in skimboarding pumping the arms isn’t an option.
And?… I’m a skimboarder, not a sprinter.
Well the faster the charge, the faster the boards. The faster the boards, the farther out you go. Dynamic stretching is the key. Dynamic stretching is defined as stretching with movement which prepares the body for physical exertion and sports performance. Dynamic stretches mimic the muscle movements performed in running and jumping. Dynamic stretches such as running in place, jumping jacks, running and kicking the butt with the heels, leg kicks, lunges, knee pulls, and jogging should be performed for 10 minutes and up to 5 minutes before short sprints. When dynamic flexibility increases, so does running flexibility (GET YOUR KNEES UP), and running efficiency (LENGTHEN YOUR STRIDE). If you want to be a more effective skimboarder, you need to be a more flexible, effective runner!
