No commentsResults for HASL Minishaka Shakedown by Exile Skimboards
The Minishaka Shakedown was a success with some gnarly shorebreak and good times. A big mahalo to Lulu’s Waikiki for hooking up the jumbo hot dogs at the beach and for the Beef stew & rice at the after party. Also a big thanks to Freak traction for donating prizes and Exile skimboards for sending out George Bryan to honor us with his riding talents.
In the 21 & Under division we saw young Alex Abe take first with fellow Sandy’s localBrenton Ogasawara in 2nd and from Maui was Randol Stancil in 3rd. Good job you guys it was kind of choppy out there.
We saw the 22 & Up division winner Zach Jenson take 1st at the spot he’s at everyday. In 2nd was Corey Mira originally from Kauai and new to HASL contests. And in 3rd was Jon China also from Sandy’s.
The Women’s division had 4 contestants with Nienke Van Breugel visiting from Holland. EOS TEAM RIDER Jasmine Joy took 1st place for Oahu with EOS TEAM RIDER Nikki Lee from Maui in 2nd and Natalie Nakasone in 3rd also from Oahu.
The Men’s Advanced division was action packed with 12 entries. All time great George Bryanwas entered to give the field a big push, but it was last year’s HASL champ Clark Camp who won with his long frontside liners and going super far out for some big backside wraps. In 2nd was points leader & 2010 HASL champ and EOS TEAM RIDER Kyle “Little Man” Olson who put in some super smooth frontsides & powerful backside wraps.
In 3rd was George Bryan who made it really hard for the judges to decide because he busted out some of the best skimming of the day.
The winner of the Exile coffin bag grand prize raffle was Chris “Alreckayoface” Alreck originally from Santa Cruz and also 6th in Men’s Advanced league.
Thanks again to everyone who showed up and for all the support. We’ll do our best as always for next year kicking things off with the Dangerous Shorebreak contest at Sandy’s in late Feb or early March.
Mahalo!!
