Yesterday was not just another day in paradise . . . the Hawaii Amateur Skmboard League (HASL) joined SaveMakena.org to host a grassroots skim contest at Oneloa (a.k.a. Big Beach) of Makena State Park. Even though conditions were not favorable, the event was ran quite smoothly with nothing but positive vibes from conscious people all around. EOS team riders were definitely holding it down in the shorepound!
Keith “Party” Fowler took 1st in the Advanced division
Kyle “Little Man” Olson took 2nd under Keith
Jasmine Joy took 3rd in the Womens division
Maui Mele is the 3rd official contest out of 6 in the league. Our following destination is the garden island of Kauai. Yes . . . life is so hard living in HI with eternal sunshine & epic scenery (j/jkn). This is why preserving sacred land from luxury residential development is so important to Save Makena. If we don’t stand up for the raw beauty of Mother Nature, where will our future generations learn how to skim in peace?
Until HI’s next skim pow wow . . . ALOHA
