EOS Team Rider Paulo Prietto wins big in Mexico
A big congrats goes out to our rider Paulo Prietto for winning this past weekend’s comp down in Mexico. Here at EOS we are thankful to the fact that he wasn’t kidnapped by some drug cartel and that he is safe let alone winning the whole comp. Thanks Paulo for starting the EOS team out on a good foot for 09! Here are some shots I snaked for Missy Akerman Green’s facebook. Thanks Missy!

Vilano Throw Down FINAL RESULTS!
1. Sean Rossenberry vs. Steve Boomhower
2. Dave Scott vs. Dave Armstrong
The final results were:
1st place: Steve Boomhower
2nd place: Dave Armstrong
3rd place: Dave Scott
4th place: Sean Rossenberry
Huge props go out to Steve Boomhower and all of the other finalists. This event was really great for Steve, who’s an amazing skimboarder. Unfortunately he sometimes doesn’t get all the recognition he deserves as a rider, and it’s really great that he came out on top. Dave Armstrong also did a really impressive job of reading the somewhat difficult Vilano conditions today. He pulled off quite a few really clutch tech tricks that, considering the wind, were unbelievable.
The event was great and will be playing for 48 hours at www.vtdlive.com. Check it out!

Here in the Final 8 skimmers, the upset was once again with a Rossenberry brother… this time it was Sean knocking out his brother Erick! Both of them skimmed really well, but Erick just wasn’t skimming as well as he was earlier.
Many would have expected Steven Bradford to really excel in the smaller conditions with his technical prowess, but Boomhower’s consistent ability to get wraps and lines proved to be what was needed to advance.
1. Dave Scott vs. Jed Currington
2. Erick Rossenberry vs. Sean Rossenberry
3. Dave Armstrong vs. Max Smetts
4. Stephen Bradford vs. Steve Boomhower

The first round of heats were just to seed the competitors. Here are the results starting with the elimination rounds…. (Winners of the heats are underlined)
Round #2
1. Dave Armstong vs. Pete Anderson
2. Corbin Dull vs. Erick Rosenberry
3. Zach Hoag vs. Bryan Allen
4. Brad Evers vs. Mike Coffee
5. Marcos Paranhos vs. Russ King
6. Troy Rhoten vs. Chris Elison
7. Micah Cooper vs Aaron Astin
Some really big surprises from this round were Corbin Dull getting bumped out by Erick. Erick skimmed great throughout the day and really showed his ability. Another big surprise was Micah knocking out Aaron Astin. Aaron was favored to potentially win the event, and he ended up getting knocked out the first elimination round. Micah is a really good rider and definitely proved that today.
Round #3
1. Austin Keen vs. Erick Rosenberry
2. Stephen Bradford vs. Bryan Allen
3. Dave Scott vs. Troy Rhoten
4. Jed Currington vs. Brad Evers
5. Steve Boom vs. Micah Cooper
6. Sean Rosenberry vs. Marcos Paranhos
7. Charley Daley vs. Dave Armstrong
8. Max Smetts vs. Corbin Dull
Some really impressive performances in this round were Erick Rosenberry and Max Smetts for sure. AK was definitely favored to go far in the event (Erick actually told me that he was kinda expecting AK to win it all!) In the end, Erick stepped it up big time with some really choice waves and some super technical spins to beat AK by a margin of 4 points.
Max Smetts really showed up big time and proved that he’s gonna be a competitor to deal with for years to come and advanced a few rounds after this one.
